happy friday!

it's a brisk one here this morning, the grass was all crunchy when we took Coop and Kenzie for their morning frolic in the park, but Coop (being a Canadian) doesn't mind a little ice on his belly to cool him down after chasing the frisbee :)

this weekend we are gearing up for renovations, and we're very excited.

what plans do you have this weekend? I hope you have a wonderful weekend and can enjoy the sunshine!

happy weekend

even thought bryce and I both worked this weekend, we got to hang out with our two favourite furry folk, and that made for a happy weekend.

Cooper says hi

and happy hump day :)
I took this shot of him at the Vet Dermatologist the other day - yes he's an expensive allergic doggy - but we still love him :)

poodle (and pooch) parade

on sunday we headed out to the annual poodle parade which as it turns out wasn't exclusive to poodles, there were doggies of all shapes and sizes all over the place!

Hannah with mckenzie, max and cooper poses for a picture while we waited for our turn on the red carpet
gino goes head to head with a french bulldog
we got bored while we waited, there must have been 150 dogs all lined up to strut their stuff, so I thought it would be a good idea to get a cute group photo of gino, charlotte, cooper, mckenzie and max sitting all in a row... here's how that turned out
this was the only cat at the parade - a sphinx cat at that (hairless) and their owners really got into it all dressed up as vampires... I must say I like their umbrella though - I have never seen an umbrella built for 2 (or 3 in this case)
Hannah and Max (awww)
and it was their turn on the red carpet
lots of dogs had to be helped up those stairs, but not little Max, he's a determined little guy
they worked the catwalk and did a trick where Max jumps through Hannah's leg and the crowd was very impressed!
quick stop for the puparazzi (I'm so funny... :P)
dog modeling is so exhausting...
Cody and Gino were up next and he was almost the biggest dog there (so many small fluffy types)
all for the reward of the treat though, hey Gino?awww
ok that's enough now...
this poodle was dressed up like Mr T, I think
we won a $30 gift voucher to a local pet store in a raffle - yay mckenzie!
and now it was Coop's turn, and we were determined to show up clever Max with a combo of tricks :) first high 5
then shake
dance
and then through the leg - yay!
quick photo opand then it was McKenzie's turn which her trick was just making it through without getting too scared (the poor skittish girl)... family portrait
and then they're outta there!
it was so hot so we didn't stick around for much after that, so we cooled down with some frozen yogurt yumminess

gifts in the mail

look what Cooper and McKenzie got last night in the mailit's not hard to tell who's is who's here...of course they wanted to try them on that instant!Peace man...I think Coop should be a dog model - he wears it well!McKenzie was not so sure about the whole idea...look at that face...how can a face like that be capable of bad things...?
we know you better than that McKenzie!

Thanks Barb

puppy kisses from Cooper and McKenzie

bay to breakers or bust

I can't believe that Bay to Breakers was already a month ago... where does the time go? well it was lots of fun, but not for the reasons that we discovered last year. this year we thought it would be a fun idea to take Cooper and McKenzie since they love going for long walks... so we drove up to the city just in time to get at the back of the crowd (since we didn't want to crowd the doggies)
and the familiar suspects were there
in their skimpy outfits, drinking to keep warm - it was freezing at this hour
I guess fashionably late is ok for this thing as there were still plenty of people getting across the starting line
and we were off for the 7 mile walk
the last of the floats was noisy
and someone didn't like the noise...
so we sat back and watched the crowd go by for a bit
we saw some clever costumes - this one was smart and they were dispensing wine too (at 8am)
this was my favourite costume though - Tiger Woods
we were amazed that the clean up crew were right behind the last of the crowd
but someone decided it was not cool... too noisy, too many drunk silly people too early...
so we watched them walk off to the breakers
and decided on plan b, and headed back to the bay :)
which was perfectly quiet and peaceful
and instantly they were happy again :)
we decided to walk our own 7 miles or so
Coop really wanted to get in the water at this point...
McKenzie thought he was nuts...
then we spied this tower in the distance, and thought we'd go check it out
look right or is that left? so confused these days...
and up the hill we trekked
the views were amazing
and then we found it - Coit Tower
then we headed back down the hills
to see what else we could find. we walked up some hills and down some more hills
and it turned out to be a fun day
at the end of the trip we came across a pet shop that Cooper dragged us into - McKenzie thought she found a shortcut... which of course I had to take photos of before getting her out :P
then back in the car
mission accomplished...
