thanks Codita!

Last night Melita and Cody treated Bryce and I to an engagement celebratory dinner at their fave restaurant Cin-Cin, which just might be my new fave now also! We ate tapas style nibbles and sipped delicious prosecco and wine. Every bite was amazing (except I'm still not a fan of pate, which Melita couldn't get enough of...)

I love eating little bits of all sorts of flavours, reminds me of our trip to Spain a few years back. wish I had the time to prepare things like this every night!
the appetizers all looked too good to just pick one so we got some of them all on a platter. we had chorizo wrapped stuffed olives, sherry chicken liver crostinis, prosciutto, manchego cheese with date bread, deviled eggs, prosciutto wrapped medjool dates and spanish tuna melt crostinis
next we had the sliders (mini hamburgers) that were the best I've ever had
then we finished off with some fruit and cheese
and meats, pate and mustards.

Yum!

More food pictures...

Irish Coffee made w/Jameson
Pinot Grigio
I had quail for the first time! This was crispy quail w/oranges and arugula.

Clams in wine w/tomatoes and basil. It looks like we ate a lot, but these portions were tiiiny.
We split a Caesar salad that was tossed tableside. It was good,
but a little too lemony for us and we didn't finish it.
Cody had filet w/artichoke and crab, asparagus, and a Bernaise sauce.
I had red and juicy rack of lamb that I sprinkled w/black sea salt .

I noticed that I like to post a lot of food pictures and will start trying to do more writing and post more pictures of people and places. That being said, here are some pictures from Cody and my trip to Bass Lake this weekend. Cody took me to Tanaya Lodge for our anniversary dinner on Saturday night and here are the pictures I took of us and our yummy dinner.

A Fun Friday Night

C: "Here are some magic moonwalking napkins."

K: "They don't work! I still can't moonwalk."

C: "Here comes Security. Hide the napkins."

We went out in downtown Campbell this Friday night and met up with Kate and Bryce and Cody's friends Mike and Libby at La Pizzeria. We had to wait a bit for our table so we took turns slipping next door to Katie Blooms for a quick drink. Cody and I had Red Bull and Vodka (I know, gross) and Kate and Bryce had margaritas. We ordered our pizzas and chatted while waiting for them to come out. I ordered the ham and anchovy (I know, gross) which I was going to share with Cody, but he said it was too fishy so we ordered another one for him sans anchovies. We then headed over to the Cardiff Lounge that I remembered as being a lot funner many, many years ago, but now the place seems overrun by a bunch of cologne drenched jerks who refused to let Mike in because he has a CA ID and not a driver's license!? huh? Mike and Libby left and K, B, C, and I all stayed and finished our drinks and danced a bit - the place sucked, but we can have fun anywhere. We practiced our moonwalking and discovered that Kate cannot moonwalk no matter how hard she tries. I put some special moonwalking napkins on the floor for her to use and when two bouncers immediately swooped in to prevent her from sliding across the floor like she was born to do, we knew it was time to go. I did however put the napkins back in the holder before we left (I know, gross). We finished off the night at the Sonoma Chicken Coop where we practiced our Chewbaka wookie love-calls soundboard.com, tried more moonwalking (Kate still could not do it) and watched as Bryce managed a pretty fabulous crotch-grab (on himself, you perv) that I think Kate has video of that I'm praying she will post. She also has video/pics of Cody shoveling money down my top that I'm praying she will not post.

Here is video of Cody dancing while we shout in the background, "Moonwalk! Please moonwalk!" Yes, I know it's sideways, sorry.

The Garage

Keri and Jessica = Foxy
I went with Keri, Jessica, and their friends to a fun night out. The first stop was a delicious dinner at The Garage in Naglee Park. This place is incredible! I love the beautiful and fun location and the menu was outstanding. I had a glass of Pinot Grigio and the hamburger special with avocado and swiss cheese. The hamburger was flavorful and juicy (Chris says it's because the burgers are hand-formed sirloin) and came with these amazing giant fried potato wedges and tomato jam. I sampled everyone else's dishes too and think next time I'll order the shrimp that Jessica had. The broth they came in was So Good and came with bread for soaking it all up! Afteward we went for a few songs at Bamboo 7 with Julia Gulia and Keri & Jessica brought the house down with their beautiful voices. In fact, when I went up to sing the crowd started shouting, "We want Jessica!" Below is video of the female power ballad Keri performed in an effort to cheer me up. It worked, girl! It's a little hard to hear her because there was a very intoxicated crazy lady who took a break from straddling random people to scream "ooooh yea!" during the performance.

La Pizzeria in Campbell

I haven't been out and about at night in downtown Campbell in forever. I like to go to the park with the pooch, or to the farmer's market on the weekend, but tonight I suddenly got an urge to go check it out and have a drink. There are quite a few new places to eat and we ended up at La Pizzeria where we had an Insalata Italiana (fresh mozzarella, fresh tomato, avocado, all drizzled w/olive oil and fresh black pepper) and the Funghi Cotto (mozzarella, Italian ham, and fresh mushrooms) all rinsed down with a delicious glass of Sauvignon Blanc! Molto bene! Please forgive the bad quality of the pictures. I'm a lover, not a photographer.
