this is officially my last ditch effort for my sad little social experiment... I thought maybe if you knew what the give-away was you'd feel compelled to send me a photo of your front door with a link to your blog and I could post them all, make it to my goal of 50 doors and then hand out this wonderful prize of a home depot giftcard (or hardware store in your country) with a value of $US80...

today's front door comes from a store, yep that's right it's a little house Chloe took a shot of in anthropology and since I have not had anymore doors come from you guys - yes YOU (hint hint), I am left to just post random doors from around the world on my own... sulk sulk... not that this isn't a lovely door, I mean look how cute this little house is...please send me your front doors so I can fulfill my goal of 50 doors, and hand out the great give-away :) and thank you to all of you who have already sent me your gorgeous doors!

Welcome to Our House!

Here's another door for the Welcome Experiment. My brand new front door at 642!! The old one was a hollow core, cracked and broken scrap of blue plywood - not very welcoming at all. As part of my reno a new and shining front door was at the top of the must-haves list and here it finally is. We couldn't be happier to finally have a door that welcomes people warmly instead of having one that looks like something bad will happen to you if you venture inside. It still needs to have the trim installed and the stucco repaired, but Hurrah!

today's door comes from San Jose, from Chloe (who sits 2 cubes away from me at work) :) I love how it's all dressed up for year of the tiger! She recently bought her house and is in the decorating stage, so we have fun chatting about which couch, and coffee table she should buy :)

Well it's been a week since we kicked off the welcome experiment and we are so excited at all the front doors we've received from near and far, so we wanted to say thank you! and decided that this called for a little gift :) so when we post our 50th door, we'll do a random drawing (dottieangel style) and give away a little gift for your front door.

Here is our front door at 642. It's in horrible shape with missing panels like rotten teeth and soon will be replaced with a nice new door, but we wanted to give it it's proper dues since it has served us well over the many years we've lived here and has done a good job if not attractively, at least warmly, welcoming our friends and family into our home.
