happy friday!

can you believe it is friday already? this week went by so fast for me, that I actually woke up this morning thinking it was thursday... what a pleasant surprise to discover in my grogginess that it's my favourite day of the week! yay

I am in totally in love with these flowers of late, they are so delicate yet architectural, they remind me of fireworks exploding - I just might have to find a spot for some for my garden.

it rained and poured here most of the week and today is the most beautiful sun shiny day here in california, 24 degrees (76F) today and tomorrow and 27 (80F) on sunday! I can't wait!

hello monday

it was just the most beautiful weekend here in California, definitely convertible weather! we were very productive in the garden over the weekend and I'll post some pics soon, but for now here are some spring images to make you feel good :)

comfy spaces

Do you ever feel that your home is not quite as inviting as you'd like it to be? that the spaces remain unfinished? this is exactly how I am feeling about our place right now, and honestly I guess I can't really complain as we haven't even started the renovations... but I am looking forward to when I have a comfy space, just like this one here to sit and sip my coffee, read a book, crochet and just plain be.

lense flare

recently I have had a small obsession with lense flare, you know those lovely little light spots that appear in photos when the sun hits the lense just so... yeah I didn't know what they were called either, so I googled light spots, and sunbursts and all sorts of options but nothing... but luckily Christina (my wonderful photographer friend) knew!

I've been experimenting with with the effect like this one, these, and this one here is one of my favourites... I love the warm, dreamy, floaty mood you can capture - they remind me of my childhood... :) here are some lovely ones I found on flickr

After posting this picture last week I have been kind of obsessed with how she did it... how did she make those little hearts appear?

the weather is supposed to be amazing here this weekend, and Bryce and I are off to Big Sur for a romantic get-away. we've rented a cosy little cabin on the river, nestled into the redwoods and are looking forward to lovely lazy days walking on the beach soaking up the rays of sunshine...
