hello!

I haven't been here much lately as work has been pretty crazy right now, with a really big product launch we are working on and nothing much else too exciting is happening right now that's worth talking about...

but I'm still here and wanted to say hi, and that I miss you all and that I hope you had a wonderful weekend!

I spent Saturday morning at the spa, which was just what I needed. Saw The Town, The Road, and continued digging in the dirt. our berm is coming along nicely! I slept a lot, which was wonderful. :)

we also went to visit Melita and Cody's new chickens - so cute!

we had the most magical time in Yosemite this long weekend - what fun things did you get up to?

why does the weekend always go at warp speed??? it feels like yesterday I was at work... but wait - last time I was at work I was riding roller coasters :)

we had a great weekend, re-organising the garage, working in the yard, going for long walks, doggy parks, dinner and garage sale shopping.

1. roller coasters at great america on Friday was great fun, this ride was my favourite next to the old wooden roller coasters - you just can't beat that fear for your life feeling when the old school carts roll over those rickety tracks! 2. this weekend it was garage sale weekend in our neighbourhood, so we decided to check it out - I got some great deals too. 3. a gorgeous rose we found on our walk. 4. some frightfully orange cheese on Bryce's potato when we went to dinner at the local ribs and bbq place up the street - like glowing orange!

hello monday

I had a wonderfully therapeutic weekend doing lots of little things like catching up on grey's and real wives of nyc (so trashy I love it), creating a pashmina wall, puppysitting, washing many loads of overdue washing, hanging paintings, sorting photos, taking photos, making pancakes, watching the last lost (thank goodness for that!) organising closets, and a bunch of other things I can't remember right now (waiting for the coffee to kick in over here...)

monday you surprised me!

for me, today started with the dread of the dmv, or as I would call it the motor registry - both equally as bad government departments that delight in trapping you in a dreary building for hours on end, with a sometimes confusing waiting line and service people that generally don't know what a smile is if they fell over one... over the weekend Bryce nicely pointed out that I have been driving an unregistered car for about 2 weeks... oops!

so after dealing with that drudgery and then drama after drama at the office, it all just seemed a bit too much madness for even a monday, and I remembered why I don't like mondays... then, this afternoon I went to have a peek at the week old kittens one of the wonderful women at my office rescued, and I had a whole new perspective on the day.

these little guys (6 of them) were abandoned by their mum and left to die in the car park of an office building, they are sleeping in a card board box, are poked at and fondled all day long by humans who feed them and then rub their little butts to make them poop... (I being one of those guilty humans) then a funny thing happened, a little tear escaped for these little guys - and I am not usually a cat person!luckily they all have homes to go to once they are old enough to leave their new mum so all in all it's a great Monday, and I think I should not be so swift to judge poor old Mondays in the future!

greek goodness

since Hannah, Vicki and I were all feeling the same monday blah today, we decided a delicious lunch was in order - nothing like copious amounts of garlicky goodness to cure the mondayitis... so off to Athena Grill, our favourite greek restaurant we headed. it's an unassuming looking place in the middle of an industrial area, but if you're in silicon valley, you really should try it out (there is a reason the line up is out the door)

it's official, today is a 2 coffee morning... I'll report back when the extra shots of caffeine have trickled into the bloodstream and shocked my brain into life... but for now, here's a photo of the most amazing cappuccino bryce made me over the weekend - I love microfoam!

it was just the most beautiful weekend here in California, definitely convertible weather! we were very productive in the garden over the weekend and I'll post some pics soon, but for now here are some spring images to make you feel good :)

spring in sonoma sneak peek

must admit I am feeling a little deflated today... after a big weekend and with daylight savings kicking in and having to get up a whole hour earlier, the coffee is just not cutting it today.

we had a jam packed weekend of yard work, a park date, housework, saw Shutter Island, went for a bike ride, and a crab feed for a local school, where I won $625!!! woohoo! :D

Monday Monday

well we're back from the desert and I am so happy that I took today off work to have a day of total vegetation... I can't remember the last time I truly just stopped and relaxed without feeling guilty - but today is all about hanging out at home in my track pants and uggs with my doggies :)

I have a bunch of blog posts to catch up on, a great pile of magazines to browse through and a few mundane tasks (like finally changing my address on my drivers license but all in all, it's a happy happy Monday!
